Blood wedding Act 3 Scene 1
In the exercise today I learnt that you have understand and explain your character and their meaning and other characters and their meaning's to the play, to your self and to your group members. This gives you the possibility to empathise with your character and the other characters.
I was not given clear directions and instructions on what to do for the exercise. My group's self chosen director was a monomaniac and didn't allow other people to contribute their ideas to the performance. Now that solely is not a justification to why our performance was a catastrophe because I was also to blame. I did not contribute enough ideas to the group and I had not substantially learnt my lines, movements and ques. In consequence I was not able to connect with my character and other characters, meaning that there would have been small amount of strength of belief in my character.
Although there is a silver lining. From my failure I realised that what I needed to do to improve mine and the group's performance. I learned that it was imperative to learn my lines, movements and ques. I could therefore understand my character and other characters meaning. Another component that I learned was to contribute your idea's even if you are being dictated. I should have incorporated and contributed my ideas into the performance.
Driven to entertain the suspicion that I were to include the components that I learned from my failures, my performance and the group's performance would have been much improved and there would have been a strong a belief in our characters and their meanings.
